“Documentary Now”: Former “Saturday Night Live” castmates Fred Armisen and Bill Hader immerse themselves in the mockumentary genre with this offbeat six-part series that lovingly parodies notable documentaries and “honors some of the most important stories that didn’t actually happen.” Lending humorous gravitas to the endeavor is Helen Mirren, who serves as series host. 7 and 10 p.m., Thursday, IFC.

SUNDAY: Based on the nonfiction book by Lisa Belkin, “Show Me a Hero” is a six-part miniseries about a bitter late-1980s dispute over public housing in Yonkers, N.Y. Oscar Isaac and Alfred Molina head up the cast. 8 p.m., HBO.
SUNDAY: Ludacris, Gina Rodriguez and Josh Peck co-host the Teen Choice Awards, an annual celebration of trendy teen standouts in television, film, music, fashion and sports. Among those scheduled to appear are Cat Deeley, Adam DeVine, Vin Diesel, Sarah Hyland and Bella Thorne. 8 p.m., Fox.
SUNDAY: “Ed Sheeran: Live at Wembley Stadium” is a concert special from London that has the pop star performing some of his biggest hits for fans. Also included: a duet with Elton John. 8 p.m., NBC.
MONDAY: “So You Think You Can Dance” is down to its Top 10 contestants, but not for long: Two of them get the heave-ho tonight. 8 p.m., Fox.
TUESDAY: On a new installment of “Extreme Weight Loss,” a 310-pound woman wants to expand her family, but has been told by doctors that she’s too heavy to have children. Enter personal trainer Chris Powell. 9 p.m., ABC.
WEDNESDAY: No joke. It’s time for the first of two semifinal rounds on “The Last Comic Standing” as 20 funny people take the stage. However, only five will move on. 10 p.m., NBC.
THURSDAY: We’re as surprised as anyone that those poor people in Chester’s Mill are still stuck “Under the Dome.” Tonight, an unexpected alliance forms in hopes of attacking said dome. 10 p.m., CBS.
THURSDAY: In the Season 1 finale of “Alone,” only two men are left on the island as a vicious storm approaches, leaving them to contend with isolation and starvation. Meanwhile, we will be watching from our comfy couch. 10 p.m., History.
FRIDAY: “We Day” is a special program designed to empower youths to make a difference in the world by showcasing the efforts of young activists from around the country. The lineup of performers includes Common, Jennifer Hudson, Macklemore and Demi Lovato. 8 p.m., ABC.
SATURDAY: “Tig Notaro: Boyish Girl Interrupted” is a stand-up comedy special that has the Grammy nominee presenting her offbeat humor at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston. Among the topics: TSA screening, misleading texts and the search for the perfect Santa Claus. 10 p.m., HBO.
