Eastern Washington’s Felix Von Hofe and Gonzaga’s Domantas Sabonis receive weekly awards
Eastern Washington sharpshooter Felix Von Hofe is entering league play on a hot streak.
The junior forward from Melbourne, Australia, was selected the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week after back-to-back career-best performances.
The 6-foot-5 Von Hofe eclipsed his career high in each of the last two games, finishing with 28 in a 74-58 road win at Denver on Sunday, hitting 9 of 18 shots from the field, including 8 of 14 3-pointers.
One game earlier, he scored 27 at in a 97-80 loss at Western Carolina, which bested his previous high of 25 points. He made 10 of 16 shots overall, 5 of 9 3-pointers.

Sophomore forward Domantas Sabonis had another big week in a pair of Gonzaga victories and for that was named the WCC men’s basketball Player of the Week.
After posting 21 points and 12 rebounds in an 86-50 win over Saint Martin’s, he dominated Tennessee at the Battle in Seattle. Against the Vols, Sabonis had 36 points and 16 rebounds – both career-highs – on 12 of 16 from the field and 12 of 15 from the free throw line. His career night helped GU to an 86-79 win.
