Obituary: Hubble, Jewell M.

Age 91

HUBBLE, Jewell M. Jewell Maxine Hubble was born in Farmington, WA on December 6th, 1923.

She passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2015.

The daughter of Carrie and Richard Born, Jewell grew up on a Palouse wheat farm homesteaded by her grandparents.

She attended Eastern Washington College of Education (now Eastern Washington University) in Cheney.

In 1944, she enlisted in the Navy and served nearly two years as a member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES).

After the war, she met and married Harold A. Hubble, a fellow WWII Army Veteran.

They were faithfully married for 68 years.

Jewell was an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending time at Priest Lake.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker and remained, throughout her life, a self-proclaimed farmer at heart.

She is survived by her husband Harold; their five children: Pamela Kathrens (Barry), Rick Hubble, Larry Hubble (Terri), Jeff Hubble (Betty), Ron Hubble (Bridget); twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Jewell will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 21st at Thornhill Valley Funeral Chapel 1400 S. Pines, Spokane Valley.
