Obituary: Polo-Stroup, Marilyn “Joyce”
Age 82
She was born March 30, 1932 at her family home in Wenatchee, WA to Roy and Faye Millard.
She grew up in Twisp, WA before permanently settling in Spokane in the late 1950’s.
Teaching was her passion.
She was a second and third grade teacher at Whitman Elementary (SPS District 81) for 23 years earning her Master’s Degree in Education while teaching.
Joyce loved spending time with her family.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, gardening, and crossword puzzles.
She was very creative and talented, and loved doing crafts.
She adored her dog, and feeding the birds in her yard.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Don Stroup of Spokane, daughters, Chris Darwood of Henderson, NV, Diana (Bob) Termer, Debbie (Eric) Fugitt, grandsons, David, Aaron, and Jordan Fugitt all from Spokane, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Faye Millard, sisters, Myrtle Siegel, Vernell Pulaski, and brother, Robert Millard.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Spokane, 228 E. Gordon, Spokane, WA on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
