Veteran pilot: World War II veteran Bob Beshore pauses for a photo in front of a B-24 Liberator at Spokane International Airport Monday. Three WWII aircraft, a B-24, a B-17 and a P-51 Mustang stopped in Spokane as part of the Wings of Freedom tour by the Collings Foundation, a nonprofit educational foundation. Beshore, 91, was a bombardier who participated in only three missions in the South Pacific before the Japanese surrendered. Visitors can tour the airplanes on the ground today and Wednesday morning. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for kids. World War II veterans are admitted free. The planes depart Wednesday at noon. (Jesse Tinsley)
