Obituary: Hollenbeck, Betty L.

Age 92

HOLLENBECK, Betty L. June 22, 1922 - February 25, 2015 Betty passed away on February 25 at Park Place Assisted Living.

She was born June 22, 1922 to parents Timothy and Belle Rubens in Palouse Washington and grew up on a farm in Farmington.

She graduated from Garfield High School.

She resided in Spokane a short time before going to work as a telephone operator near Seattle.

After she met and married Wayne Hollenbeck in 1942, she lived in Spokane Valley for the remainder of her life.

She worked for Albertsons Bakery for thirty years until her retirement.

After the death of her husband in 2000, she remained on their small farm in Spokane Valley until she moved to Park Place Independent Living.

After becoming ill in August, 2014, she moved to Park Place Assisted Living.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother, Clark, and her niece, Lavonna Allen.

She is survived by a nephew, David Rubens, her brother-in-law, Richard Hollenbeck, sisters-in-law, Elsie Hollenbeck, Phyllis Schimling, and Bobbe Hollenbeck, and several nieces and nephews-in-law and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A gathering of sharing memories will be held on March 7 at 11:00AM at Park Place Independent Living building at 511 S. Park in Spokane Valley.
