Obituary: Wollman, Jacob K. “Jake”
Age 85
He was the eldest child of Elias and Maria Wollman.
Jake was born on March 22, 1929, in Pincher Creek, Alberta.
He married Katie Waldner of West Raley, AB on December 4, 1949 at Pincher Creek.
They were blessed with five sons and four daughters: Bertha (Sam) Tschetter of Belle Plaine, SK; Jake Jr. (Ruth) Wollman of Warden, WA; Albert (Dora) Wollman of Warden, WA; Paul (Katrina) Wollman of Warden, WA; Mary Ann (David) Stahl of Huxley, AB; Rachel (Andy) Stahl of Stahl Farms, Ritzville, WA; Ben (Betty) Wollman of Warden, WA; Joyce (Bill) Stahl of Stanfield, OR; and Mike (Marie) Wollman of Warden, WA.
He is survived by his children and by his loving wife of 65 years, Katie; his two brothers Walter (Kay) and Eli (Judy) of Warden, WA; and four sisters: (Paul) Mary Hofer of Lajord, SK; P. Susie Hofer of Spring Creek, AB; B. Elizabeth Hofer of Lajord, SK, and (Joe) Lydia Tschetter of Riverside, AB.
Jacob had 40 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister Katie (George) Walter of Big Rose, SK and two brothers-in-law Paul Hofer (Susie) of Spring Creek, AB and Ben Hofer (Elizabeth) of Lajord, SK and one grandchild, Rachelle Wollman of Warden, WA.
Jacob moved to a farm near Lind, WA from Pincher Creek, and became farm manager in 1956.
In 1960, he helped establish the Hutterite community near Reardan, WA.
In 1973, he moved to the Hutterite community near Warden where his family lives today.
After his father Elias retired in the early 1990s, Jacob was elected business manager.
He was known as a capable businessman and was well respected in the community.
Before his health failed, he loved crafting fine woodwork in the cabinet shop.
He was a person who loved the Lord and believed in putting his belief into action.
He cared for people and helped many in need.
He was a man of integrity and honesty and greatly respected by all.
Jacob will be missed by his family and friends.
He will live on in our hearts and minds in many great memories, and the values that he taught us.
Memorial Service was held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Warden Hutterian Church.
