Obituary: Bigsmoke, Genevieve Marie
Age 61
Marie is a direct descendant of the past two Chiefs from the Kalispel tribe.
Marie is survived by her guardian’foster mom, Mary Lee Gaston, her daughter, Kathleen Bigsmoke-Mitchell and her two grandsons, Matthew and Anthony.
Marie is survived by her foster brothers and sisters, Gregory, Christina, Jerry, Becky, Dominic, Raquel, Justin and Gina.
Marie is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins from the Kalispel Reservation.
Marie is also survived by her dog Skah’ and her loving, caring caregivers at The Arc of Spokane.
Marie’s life in the past 25 years has been filled with much joy and love.
Though she has had many health issues, she has not let them stop her from celebrating her life to the fullest.
Marie had many roommates who loved her and shared her life with her.
Most importantly, Marie shared her love and life with many who were her friends and caregivers.
Marie never stopped grieving the loss of living and being on The Kalispel Reservation.
She was a registered Flathead Indian, but her heart was always Kalispel.
Now, Marie will go to her final resting place on the Kalispel Reservation near her dad, Andy, and her brother, Jimmy.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 12-4PM at Hennessy Funeral Home located at 2203 N. Division.
Marie’s services will be as follows: Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Catholic Community of St. Clare’s Chapel in the old Dominican Convent, 3102 W. Fort George Wright Drive.

Marie will be transported from the church to the Kalispel Indian Reservation Community Building for the Wake at 6:30 PM on Friday, March 13, 2015.
The funeral, burial, feast, and Give a Way will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate our beautiful Marie’s events that will set her soul free to soar into God’s Kingdom, never to suffer again.
