Obituary: Williams, Joan Melaine (Clark)
Age 71
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the St. John Cemetery.
Joan was born on September 9, 1943 in Spokane and raised by her grandparents, Clint and Carmalee Clark in Sunset, Washington.
She graduated from St. John High School in 1961 where she was the marching band Majorette.
She married Roger M. Walser in 1963 and lived on the north side of Spokane and later in the Spokane Valley.
She and Roger divorced in 2002 and Joan moved to LaVerne, California.
It was in California that she met and married Richard Williams.
They returned to her roots and settled in St. John in 2008.
Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She excelled in flower and vegetable gardening, homemaking, card playing and was the dedicated organizer/historian for the annual town of Sunset Reunion.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Joan is survived by her husband Richard Williams; son Roger (Kathy) Walser, Jr. and daughter Angela (Ken) Reger and grandchildren Shea Walser, Josie Walser, Clay Walser, Matthew Reger and Jacob Reger.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, James Clark.
Memorial contributions in Joan’s honor are suggested to the St. John Fire Department.
