The funeral for Sgt. Greg Moore, the Coeur d’Alene Police officer killed in the line of duty Tuesday, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lake City High School, 6101 N. Ramsey Road, in Coeur d’Alene. Police Chief Lee White said in a statement today, “We are humbled and overwhelmed by the kind response we have received from this community, and around the entire nation. “I wish to thank our surrounding law enforcement agencies for their continued support of our personnel. We especially want to thank the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office for answering many calls for service in the city and giving our officers time to grieve. I am extremely proud of our officers while they continue to carry out their oath to protect and serve this community.” The police department said it has received donations of food and cards of sympathy, as well as cash that will be set aside for Moore’s two children. “The men and women who work here and their families are doing their best to provide comfort to each other and persevere,” the agency said in a statement. Moore’s body was transported to Spokane today for an autopsy. Police officers from several agencies as well as employees of Kootenai Health lined the hospital hallway as English Funeral Home carried him to the transport vehicle, and Coeur d’Alene Police officers escorted the vehicle to the Spokane County coroner’o Office. Multiple police and fire jurisdictions joined in solidarity along the way, the police department said.
