Chiefs unveil new WHL schedule

The Spokane Chiefs announced on Monday their upcoming 72-game schedule for the 2016-17 regular season. All 36 homes games will be played at the Spokane Arena.

The Chiefs open the season on Sept. 24 on the road versus the Tri-City Americans. The Chiefs also play the Americans for their first home game on Oct. 1.

In all, the Chiefs will play 10 games on Friday, 15 on Saturday and two on Sunday. The remainder will be played on Tuesday (two games) or Wednesday (seven).

Some 21 of their 36 home games will have been played before Jan. 1. The final home game will be played on Saturday, March 18.
