Uber is offering free ice cream from The Scoop in Spokane.

From 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Spokane Uber users will find a special ice cream option in the app. If the rider requests ice cream and connects with a driver, that Uber user will receive a free ice cream delivery.

Ice cream flavors from the South Hill shop include salted caramel, strawberry, Chocolate Butter Cup, LemonHuckleBlue and mint chip.

Servings come in 6-ounce cups. Some participants will also receive Uber swag: trucker hats and sunglasses.

And that’s not the only Uber promo going on in Spokane. People who place UberEATS orders from the Gonzaga campus will get a special 99-cent delivery fee through Sept. 4. Customers must enter the SPOKES99 promo code in the UberEATS app.

And 10 GU eaters will win free delivery for the entire fall semester. Winners will be selected from the group of eaters who place orders from campus during the seven-day window.

Eaters can also enter the sweepstakes by emailing pnwsweepstakes@uber.com and specifying Back to School Sweepstakes in the subject line.

On-campus winners must provide proof of affiliation with GU in the form of a valid university ID or a working @gonzaga.edu email address. Here’s a link to the official terms and conditions: http://t.uber.com/spokes.

UberEATS normally charges $4.99 for delivery. The restaurant delivery service launched in Spokane Aug. 1.

Uber, the ride-booking company, has partnered with nearly 100 local restaurants in the greater Spokane area. Customers can order meals through the UberEATS app, which tracks their order as it’s prepared at the restaurant then handed off to a delivery driver.
