Cougars, Vandals set records in 800-meter freestyle relay

The Washington State Cougars women’s 800-meter free relay team set a school record on Wednesday’s first day of the Pac-12 Championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.

Senior Addisynn Bursch, junior Rachel Thompson, sophomore Jasmine Margetts and freshman Ryan Falk finished in 7 minutes, 14.51 seconds, surpassing the previous mark by nearly 4 seconds. The foursome placed seventh overall and earned 46 points for the Cougs.

Stanford leads with 128 points. WSU is tied with Utah for seventh place.

— The Idaho Vandals women set a school record in the 800 freestyle relay and had five divers advance in the 3-meter competition after the first day of the Western Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Houston.

The relay team of Aileen Pannecoucke, Erica King, Sarah Hall and Leah Fisk finished third with a time of 7:21.49.

Indiya Williams (6th), Hailey Kessler (8th), Janelle Lucas (10th), Nikki Imanaka (11th) and Maren Seljevold (12th) all advance for Idaho in the diving competition.
