Woman sentenced to nearly 3 years in prison for setting fire to ex wife’s home and killing dog
A judge sentenced a Spokane woman to nearly three years in prison for setting fire to her ex-wife’s home and killing her dog.
Meadow Raine-Jones, 38, pleaded guilty to one count of stalking, one count of stalking with a domestic violence enhancement and one count of second degree animal cruelty. She was sentenced Wednesday, according to a press release from the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office. Raine-Jones will recieve credit for time served at 455 days, or more than a year in jail.
Raine-Jones and her ex-wife separated in 2024. Raine-Jones started harassing and stalking her ex after she began a new relationship, the press release said. Later that year, Raine-Jones broke into her ex’s home, entered the bedroom where she kept the dog and set the bed inside on fire. The room was destroyed by the fire and the animal died, the press release said.
