Farm Potluck for the Climate

Yesterday I mentioned local events taking part in 350's 10/10/10. This Sunday I hope you can join me in a bike ride to Heron Pond Farms for Farm Potluck for the Climate. At 10:30am, meet me at the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center at 29th and Regal and we'll ride in a group, 4.25 miles to the newest farm in town. This tour and potluck is one of the 6,000 locations worldwide celebrating climate solutions with 350.org. It's a great opportunity to see how food production has significant impacts on the climate. The farmers, Lorie and Shannon, are raising goats and producing cheese, using responsible practices and appropriate scale in their methods. Get stoked.

RSVP on Facebook.

Hosted by The Whole Plate, a new program focused on local food, the event marks their grand debut. Their goal is to invite consumers to learn more about food choices and the impacts of our purchases on ourselves, the environment, and the future of food.
