Reintroducing the State Capitol’s Moldenhauer Grand Piano
The recently restored 1893 Bluthner grand piano that has occupied the Reception Room of the Washington State Capitol for 27 years will be introduced to the public in Spokane. The piano was a gift to the State of Washington from Spokane’s Dr. Hans Moldenhauer in 1990, coming with him from Germany in 1938. The piano has been restored by Ken Eschete of Bentside Arts in Spokane. A concert at 3 p.m. is free and open to the public. Jackie Wood will play the piano with features from Dr. Amy Dodds, violin, and Dr. Sally Singer, cello. All are faculty members of Whitman College.
