Astronaut: Story Time
Commander John B. Herrington joins in the celebration of Native American Heritage Month. He made history as the first enrolled Native American to fly in space. In “Mission to Space,” he explores his passion for stars and his Chickasaw heritage while giving a glimpse of his astronaut training, his mission to the International Space Station and the tasks required of him as a member of NASA. This children’s book is illustrated with photos of his training and space travels and includes an English/Chickasaw vocabulary list.
