Spokane Symphony Classics 6: Passion’s Pursuit
Feb. 16-17. Featuring Music Director Finalist James Lowe, conductor, and Haochen Zhang, piano. Liszt’s gorgeous Hungarian Rhapsody is followed by his Second Piano Concerto, full of emotion, virtuosity and passion. Brahms’ Fourth Symphony, beautiful, impassioned and tragic, is the culmination of the composer’s symphonic ideals, resulting in music that is masterful and durable. Zhou Tian’s Rise is a Spokane Symphony co-commission and will be the piece’s west coast premiere. Showtime is Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
