Spokane String Quartet: Haydn and Dvorak
The Spokane String Quartet opens its 40th season with three outstanding string quartets celebrating three centuries of chamber music with influences ranging from the cello-playing King Frederick of Prussia to the 20th century’s foremost patron of chamber music, Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge. Selections include Haydn’s Quartet No. 41 in D Major, “The Frog,” Op. 50, No. 6; Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte; and Dvorák’s String Quartet No. 14 in A-Flat Major, Op. 105.
