Career: Served as Cheney Public Schools superintendent from 2008 until retiring this summer. Principal and superintendent at Mansfield School District from 2003 until 2008. Superintendent of Pateros School District from 2006 to 2008 (a job he held simultaneously with his job in Mansfield). Special education teacher in the St. John Endicott School Districts from 2000 until 2003. Former West Plains Chamber board member.
Education: Graduated from Olympia High School in Olympia, Wash. in 1967. Received bachelor’s in education from Central Washington University in 1971, master’s in business administration from Florida Institute of Technology in 1976. Master’s in education leadership from Eastern Washington Univesrity in 2003.
Political experience: First run for office.
Military experience: Served 27 years in Air Force, retired as a colonel and vice wing commander of the 92nd Air Refueling Wing
Family: Married and has two adult children

LARRY KELLER, Republican 1. Why do you feel that you are the best candidate? I am the only candidate that has been a CEO of mid to large size organizations. I have shown I can bring diverse groups with diverse opinions together to “get things done.” I have demonstrated that I know how to be a good fiscal steward, most recently as the Cheney School superintendent, with a $40 million budget and with $79 million of construction projects. I am also the only candidate who has a background in education and can apply that background on how best to satisfy the January state Supreme Court decision on the adequate funding of K-12 education.
