Summary

Hailey Higashi scored 19 points with five rebounds, three steals and three assists and the Dragons (20-2) beat the Bulldogs (16-6) 55-39 on Wednesday in a District 7 2B game at West Valley HS.

St. George’s advances to the title game on Saturday against the Davenport/Liberty winner, with both teams advancing to regionals. Colfax plays in a loser-out game on Thursday.

Higashi had 11 points in an 18-8 third-quarter run, including three 3-pointers. Daysha Melendez added 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting, and Lydia Bergquist played shutdown defense on Colfax leading scorer Carmen Gfeller, limiting Gfeller to three points on 1-of-15 shooting from the field.

Taylor Garcia led Colfax with 18 points.
