For all the times this season where the Kraken have done a poor job of handling bad bounces, a soft goal or a defensive breakdown, it’s notable when they provide an immediate response.

SEATTLE – It’s time to say the scariest word in sports.

The Kraken managed to keep pace Thursday night against the best in the West, the Winnipeg Jets. Seattle watched the clock tick down, almost assured of at least one standings point.

There would be no unlikely comeback Sunday afternoon as the Kraken plunged too far, too fast.

Prone to weak starts, the Kraken haven’t figured out how to eliminate them. But they can occasionally win in spite of them.

SEATTLE – Ten seconds after the puck was dropped Saturday night at Climate Pledge Arena, the ice went dark. An inexplicable, likely accidental button push killed the illumination and caused an unexpected stoppage of play.

LOS ANGELES — Getting resettled during their recent homestand was precisely what the Kraken needed to stabilize after teetering toward trouble.

SEATTLE – Already without one of their top defensemen, the Kraken might now be wondering if their captain and second-leading goal scorer is about to have his own extended absence.

For the final game of a forgettable road trip, Kraken coach Dan Bylsma gave his lineup a significant change and sent a message to his roster in the process.

Boston native Joey Daccord tried hard to salvage a bad start, but there was little he could do about a stagnant Kraken offense.
