LOS ANGELES — Getting resettled during their recent homestand was precisely what the Kraken needed to stabilize after teetering toward trouble.

SEATTLE – Already without one of their top defensemen, the Kraken might now be wondering if their captain and second-leading goal scorer is about to have his own extended absence.

For the final game of a forgettable road trip, Kraken coach Dan Bylsma gave his lineup a significant change and sent a message to his roster in the process.

Boston native Joey Daccord tried hard to salvage a bad start, but there was little he could do about a stagnant Kraken offense.

Campbell earned her promotion to the big leagues like any player might, spending two years on Dan Bylsma's staff with the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds and playing an integral role in helping that team reach consecutive Calder Cup finals. 

Over the first three seasons of the franchise, only two players in Kraken history recorded a hat trick.

Minnesota Wild captain Jared Spurgeon admitted before the season that the back and hip surgeries that ended his 2023-24 season would require daily maintenance throughout 2024-25, and sure enough, on Thursday general manager and team president Bill Guerin confirmed that the reason Spurgeon has missed the past two games was indeed related to last season's injuries.

Fan favorite goalie Joey Daccord is sticking around with the Kraken past this season. Daccord agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Kraken worth an average of $5 million per season that will keep him from hitting free agency after the conclusion of the upcoming season, according to TSN.
