A historic lodge in Grand Canyon National Park was one of dozens of structures destroyed by a wildfire in northern Arizona that has prompted evacuations and forced the closure of the North Rim to visitors for the remainder of the 2025 season, authorities said Sunday.
Nearly 7,000 acres have burned between Kettle Falls and Northport, Washington, with no containment of the fire as of Thursday morning, fire officials said.
The Western Pines fire burning northeast of Davenport has nearly doubled in size as crews continue to battle the blaze as it approaches the Spokane River.
