Gonzaga is back in the final four – that is, the final four of Asa Newell, a five-star recruit who named the Bulldogs as one of four potential college destinations on Wednesday afternoon.

Gonzaga’s first game back on the mainland following a trip to Oahu for the Maui Invitational will take place on Nov. 28 against Cal State Bakersfield at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

The Maui Invitational, loaded with Gonzaga and four more top-10 teams in ESPN’s latest preseason rankings, is officially on the move. The prestigious holiday tournament will be held at the University of Hawaii’s Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

The Zags will entertain Lewis-Clark State College on Nov. 3 at the McCarthey Athletic Center, according to a LCSC release. The Warriors’ roster includes guard Sam Stockton, son of former Gonzaga great John Stockton, Colfax High grad John Lustig and forward Grayson Hunt, a former Pullman Greyhound.

The Lahaina Civic Center won’t host 2023 Maui Invitational games in the wake of devastating wildfires that spread through the region last month, but the high-profile college basketball tournament will still have a home on the Hawaiian islands this November.

After brief stops in the West Coast Conference and Big 12 Conference, former Kansas and Gonzaga signee Marcus Adams Jr. will resume his college basketball career at a program making the transition from one conference to the other.
