Cougars keep up with rest

When the Cougar Mania Strength and Conditioning Complex opened in 1997, it was the envy of college athletics. Consisting of two stories and covering 14,000 square feet, the weight room symbolically told WSU recruits that Pullman was the place to go for big-time college football. “It was the best weight room on the West Coast and the second or third best in the country,” said Bill Doba, who was the defensive coordinator for WSU’s football team at the time.

PULLMAN – During the season, Washington State’s football coaches don’t get much time with the underclassmen on the team. Cougs’ bowl return seen as sign of bigger things

PULLMAN – The last time the Washington State football team played in a bowl game the year was 2003, and the opponent was the University of Texas, ranked No. 5 in the country. “I would say we were as prepared for that game as any game that I’ve ever played in,” said Matt Kegel, who started at quarterback for No. 15 WSU in the game.

WSU seniors reap rewards for persistence

PULLMAN – It has been a productive week for Washington State safety Deone Bucannon, who found out he is headed to not one, but two, bowl games. The senior will play with his WSU teammates against Colorado State in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl and then join other seniors from around the country to play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 26 in the annual NFL draft showcase.
