Fans stormed the field as the sun set in Pullman, reveling in the realization that WSU’s 49-37 win on Senior Night over the visiting Utah Utes (4-7, 1-7 Pac-12) makes the Cougars (6-5, 4-4) bowl eligible for the first time since 2006.

PULLMAN – When Mike Leach was the head coach at Texas Tech the Red Raiders went to 10 straight bowl games. One of the perks of postseason play was the extra practice time allotted to bowl teams. While all teams are limited to 15 practices in the spring, the NCAA places no cap on the number of practices a team can squeeze in prior to a bowl game.

Improved WSU O-line faces tough task against Utah

PULLMAN – After the Washington State football team’s 24-17 victory at Arizona last weekend both quarterback Connor Halliday and coach Mike Leach praised the offensive line for putting together one of its best games. While the Wildcats sacked Halliday four times, he insisted after the game that those knockdowns were of the “coverage” variety, and that he had sufficient time to throw the ball if a receiver had been open. The Cougars ran for 101 yards – 99 more than their previous game against Arizona State.
