UI football: Coach Paul Petrino, reporter at odds over confrontation

MOSCOW, Idaho – With the support of Idaho athletic director Rob Spear, Idaho football coach Paul Petrino issued a statement on Thursday denying a claim made in a column written by the Moscow-Pullman Daily News that he needed to be restrained during a confrontation with reporters following Wednesday morning’s practice. “Today the Moscow-Pullman Daily News published an article stating that I had to be ‘physically restrained’ from one of their reporters, and insinuated that I intended to physically harm him.  This is not an accurate account of what happened after yesterday’s practice,” Petrino said in a prepared statement.
