Arson Cover-Up Lands Man In Prison

A man accused of covering up an arson fire in exchange for $10,000 will spend at least six months in prison, a judge ordered Wednesday. Randell E. Williams pleaded guilty to accessory to arson after a fire destroyed his friend's Harrison, Idaho, home.

A Post Falls man is suing a former police officer, after being hit with a baton during an arrest two years ago. Patrick Clancy, 40, filed suit Thursday against former officer Daniel G. Finn, who left the Post Falls Police Department shortly after the incident.

A man accused of participating in an illegal moneymaking scheme which swept through Kootenai County will spend a year on probation. His wife, who also was accused of involvement in the "pyramid" scheme, will go free, according to court records.

Boy Accidentally Hits Brother With Boat

A 15-year-old Spokane Valley boy who was driving a boat Saturday afternoon accidentally hit his older brother with the engine propeller, slashing the youth's leg and foot. Russell D. Bastian, 19, was taken to Kootenai Medical Center.
