New Laws For Drivers Hit The Road Today

Six Children Injured In Post Falls Collision

Six children were rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a pickup truck collided with the car they were riding in. Two of the children were being treated in Kootenai Medical Center's intensive care unit Wednesday evening.

Excursion Ends With Rape Charge Boating Companion, 22, Says Beating Began After She Accidentally Took Keys

Prosecutors charged a 23-year-old man with rape and crimes against nature Monday after police say he spent more than an hour sexually assaulting and beating a woman. Vincent Aschinger of Post Falls also was charged with aggravated assault and is being held at the Kootenai County Jail.

Firefighters Flame Out Departments Must Contend With More Of Everything

In just 20 minutes, Coeur d'Alene firefighters were overwhelmed late Sunday as they rushed to a burning shed, two car accidents and an apartment fire. Much to their relief, the apartment fire turned out to be nothing more than scorched food. Still, the crush of calls forced the Coeur d'Alene department to turn to the Kootenai County Fire District for help.

Deputies arrested two Coeur d'Alene teens Monday after they intentionally had hit a third youth with the door of a pickup truck, according to Kootenai County sheriff's officials. Thomas Boyer, 16, was hospitalized with bruises, lacerations and possible internal injuries after he had been smacked from behind with the truck door.
