Freedom Urged For 2 Americans In Iraq
Polish diplomats representing the United States in Iraq have expressed to authorities “in the strongest terms” their concern about the health of two Americans held prisoner in Iraq, the U.S. State Department said Monday.
The diplomats asked that the Americans, David Daliberti, 41, and William Barloon, 39, be moved to a larger cell from the 8-by-6-foot cell to which they have been confined since March 30. They also renewed their request that the Americans be set free on humanitarian grounds.
A CNN reporter who visited the prisoners last week said Daliberti was increasingly concerned about heart and eye problems.
