Head-On Crash Kills Two Colville Residents

Two Colville residents died late Friday in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 395, the Washington State Patrol said.

Both drivers - Martin Silva, 22, and Orinda Dorman, 18 - died at the accident scene 2.8 miles north of Chewelah. There were no passengers.

Silva was driving south at high speed in a 1988 Pontiac when he crossed the center line and hit Dorman’s 1978 GMC pickup, which was heading north.

Silva, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from his car.

Dorman’s car caught fire. She was wearing a seat belt and her body was badly burned, state troopers said.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m.
