Ramsey Park Dedication Will Be Today

From Staff Reports

Coeur d’Alene’s newest and largest park, the by-product of a closed landfill, will be dedicated today at 3 p.m.

Ramsey Park, located off Ramsey Road, is 29 acres and has several softball and soccer fields. It began with a land trade in 1986.

The park grew in part because Interstate Concrete and Asphalt donated 12 acres and some building materials to the project.

Part of the park is constructed over the old Kootenai County landfill. The park was built with labor from the city Parks Department, the Kootenai County Solid Waste Department and Interstate Concrete.

The dedication ceremonies are being held by the flag pole, next to the parking lot.
