Lidback Leads By One Stroke At Lpga’s Du Maurier Classic
Jenny Lidback, who has never finished better than fifth in an LPGA event, is one round away from winning a major.
Lidback, 32, a multilingual Peruvian-born Swede who lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., mastered the hard, brown greens at Beaconsfield Golf Club on Saturday for a 4-under-par 68 at the $1 million du Maurier Classic in Montreal.
At 8-under 208, Lidback held a one-shot lead over Sweden’s Liselotte Neumann after 54 holes on the unpredictable, sun-baked course.
Robin Walton of Clarkston is 15 shots back after shooting a 74. Tracy Hanson of Rathdrum, Idaho, finished with a 75 for a three-day total of 220.
