Sec’s Presence Grows In Poll
Will eight be enough for the Southeastern Conference?
Already the dominant league in the Associated Press women’s basketball poll, the SEC’s presence grew even larger with the addition of Auburn to the Top 25.
That gave the SEC eight teams in the poll nearly a third of the list. A ninth team from the league, unbeaten LSU, was among the others receiving votes.
While Louisiana Tech and Connecticut remained 1-2 in the poll, Arkansas was among four SEC teams in the Top Ten. Vanderbilt was third, Tennessee fifth and Georgia ninth.
Also in the Top 25 from the SEC were No. 18 Alabama, No. 22 Mississippi and No. 23 Florida.
