Women Postpone Implant Conference
A group of Idaho Falls women who had health problems after breast implant surgery has postponed a Jan. 9 conference at the request of federal government and court officials influential in negotiating a settlement between implant manufacturers and victims.
“We’ve been asked by some very important people to delay the summit,” said Irene Beard, a local businesswoman and one of the conference organizers. “The new date is March 20, 21 and 22 in Houston. We’re in the process of notifying people now.”
At last count, 18,000 women had registered to attend the conference, Beard said. Organizers had hoped that more than 200,000 women would attend.
