UI Forward’s Heart Normal, Tests Show
The University of Idaho basketball team was relieved to learn Tuesday that medical tests on forward Harry Harrison’s heart showed no abnormalities.
Harrison had bronchitis and a 104-degree temperature last week as UI left on a road trip. His temperature went down and he played on Thursday night against Weber State. But he was held out of Saturday’s Northern Arizona game as a precautionary measure after a chest X-ray appeared to show Harrison had an enlarged heart.
Further tests on Monday in Moscow indicated Harrison’s heart isn’t enlarged.
“Everything’s been negative,” trainer Barrie Steele said. “Everything has turned out the way we wanted.”
Harrison, averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds per game, was cleared to practice on Tuesday and is expected to play on Friday when Montana visits the Kibbie Dome.
Boise State 7-foot center John Coker will be out 2-3 weeks due to a stress fracture in his left foot. He’s scheduled for surgery today.
Coker is third in Big Sky Conference scoring at 17.5 points per game.
