Court Asked To Review Salmon Recovery Plan
Idaho Power Co. has asked a federal appellate court to review the Northwest Power Planning Council’s salmon recovery plan, arguing that the council violated federal law by adopting it Dec. 15.
The Boise-based utility filed the lawsuit Friday with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.
Idaho Power said the council failed to provide “meaningful opportunity for public participation and comment” before deciding to amend its Columbia Basin Fish and Wildlife Program and begin expanding its Snake River salmon recovery efforts this spring.
