Moe Injured In Super G
Italian skier Peter Runggalder won a World Cup super giant slalom, edging out AJ Kitt on a fast track at Whistler Mountain.
Runggalder started second and covered the 53-gate, 2,449-meter course in 1 minute, 35.97 seconds to beat Kitt by 13 one-hundredths of a second.
Kitt had a remarkable run considering he started 54th. Course conditions held up during the 90-minute event as cooler temperatures produced an icy surface.
Defending champion Tommy Moe of the United States crashed early in his run and was taken to hospital with possible broken ribs.
