Friend Accidentally Shoots Boy

A 13-year-old Ada County boy was in serious condition Sunday night after a friend accidentally shot him in the stomach in a west Ada County home.

Authorities would not release the boys’ names.

Ada County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chuck Howard said the victim and another boy were playing with a .22-caliber revolver and a 9 mm pistol about 6 p.m. when one boy shot the other with the 9 mm gun. The boys thought the guns were unloaded. The revolver was in a desk in the house and the other gun was in a car in the garage, said Howard.
