The Berry Best

The taste and aroma of last summer’s fresh fruits and berries may seem like distant memories, but you can come close with a jar of pie fillings from Green Bluff.

They come in three varieties: apple, cherry and Very Berry, a mixture of blueberries, marionberries, and raspberries. All the fruit comes from the farm of Gordon and Marilyn Beck, except for the marionberries, which are grown in Oregon.

The fillings make great homemade pies, of course, and Marilyn Beck also suggests them as a topping for waffles and ice cream.

Price: A one-quart jar retails for $6.95 - more expensive than canned fillings, but worth it. Available: You can buy it at the Apple Shop (in RiverPark Square), Harry O’s market, or the Becks’ farm.
