Coach Joins Erickson

Greg McMakin, defensive coordinator at the University of Miami last season, will join the Seattle Seahawks’ coaching staff in the same position.

In addition, new head coach Dennis Erickson retained Dave Brown, a Seahawks defensive coach since 1992 and a former cornerback for the team. Brown will continue to help coach the defensive backfield.

McMakin, 47, is a Northwest native who has coached 20 of the last 22 years on the college level, including at Western Oregon State College, the University of Idaho, San Jose State, Stanford, the University of Utah and the Naval Academy. He served as the secondary coach with the Denver Gold of the USFL.
