Festival A Denver Dud

Compiled From Wire Services

The 1995 U.S. Olympic Festival in Colorado is struggling to pay bills before opening ceremonies July 21 because of unpaid corporate pledges and sluggish ticket sales.

Festival organizers are working to raise money that had been committed by corporate sponsors but still hasn’t materialized in order to pull off the $11.9 million festival, which has events planned in Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs and Parker.

Also, ticket sales, which were expected to reach $2.4 million, have been slow - just $1.3 million by Wednesday.
