Rohde Breaks Record In Win
Mark Rohde now owns the Hidden Lakes Country Club golf course record all by himself.
The Spokane pro birdied his first four holes en route to a course-record, 7-under-par 65 to win the Washington Trust Bank Pro-Am on Monday.
Rohde, who had shared the record with Craig Schuh at 66, started on the back side and wound up with eight birdies offset by a single bogie in his round of 34-31.
“I had a putt on the final hole that spun around the cup and came back at me,” he said of a just-missed ninth birdie.
Sun Dance pro Chris Mitchell (33-34) and amateur Kent Brown of Liberty Lake (34-33) shared second with 67s.
In all, 17 golfers bettered Hidden Lakes’ par of 72 and seven others matched it.
Pro Bob Scott of Liberty Lake (32-26) and senior amateur Jim O’Rourke of Spokane Country Club (33-35) had 68s.
Don Holland of Hidden Lakes won the 0-8-handicap group with a 70-4-66. First in the 9-13 and 14-and-over groups was shared by Mike Conway of Manito and Jerry Camp Jr. of Qualchan in the former and Terry Nap of Esmeralda and Dick Kleinfelder of Okanogan in the latter.
