Sweden just can’t handle Brazil in soccer. It doesn’t matter if it’s men or women.

One day after the men won 1-0 in an English tournament, the Brazilian women capitalized on its only chance in the first half and hung on for a 1-0 upset over Sweden in their women’s World Cup opener at Helsingborg.

European champion Germany, beaten by Sweden in the bronze-medal game in the inaugural World Cup in China four years ago, struggled to a 1-0 victory over Japan in the other Group A match at Karlstad, western Sweden.
