Dollar Ends Mixed, Little Changed

The dollar ended mixed and little changed Wednesday as investors ignored economic reports and little in the way of news materialized to influence trading.

A manufacturing survey and a government report on the gross domestic product presented a conflicting picture of the economy. The results, mostly on target with analysts expectations, were dismissed by investors.

The dollar derived some strength earlier in the day against the German mark as the mark reversed its gains in Europe.

In late New York trading, the dollar was quoted 1.4615, down from 1.4633 late Tuesday. The dollar was also changing hands in New York at 96.78 Japanese yen, up from 96.75 late Tuesday.
