Wednesday’s Games
ACH 57, Tacoma Baptist 55
Key to the game: The seventh-ranked Warriors (21-6) were able to stay close on the boards - 28-21 - and get the bigger Crusaders (19-7) in early foul trouble. “Our game was to take the ball to the basket on the big guys,” ACH coach Jim Wacker said. “Our scouting report said they fouled a lot.”
Wiebe Van Der Hoek, 6-foot10, got his third foul 2 minutes into the second quarter, sitting down with six points and four rebounds. Adrian Russell, a 6-6 sophomore, took a seat with 1:35 left in the half with the same numbers.
Other highlights: The Warriors did a good job protecting the ball, turning it over just four times and only getting three shots blocked. They also hit 12 of 19 shots in the second half (63 percent) to finish 24 of 47. After shooting 13 of 25 in the first half, Tac-Bap faded to 10 of 27 in the second half.

The Pirates trailed by five with 3:18 left in the third quarter and Ellis taking a breather. When he returned, he scored 19 of the final 23 Adna points.
Other highlights: The Pirates didn’t pull away until the final minute because Jimmy Hill of the Coyotes (20-5) was pumping in 3s, making six on his way to 21 points. However, the Coyotes only hit 19 of 53 shots (36 percent) while Adna was 25 of 46 after a 13 for 21 second half (62 percent).
