Two Eagles Set Records At Sky Indoor

Eastern Washington’s Joyce Rainwater and Noah Chambreau enjoyed recordbreaking performances Friday at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Moscow, Idaho. Chambreau, a senior from Chewelah, broke his own school record with a toss of 61- in the 35-pound weight throw.

Rainwater set meet, Kibbie Dome and EWU records in the preliminaries of both the 55 and 200 meters. She had a time of 6.95 seconds in the 55 and 23.82 in the 200, both meeting the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships.

Idaho’s men got a long jump title from Niels Kruller (25-2) and a second in the high jump from Thad Hathaway (6-11).

The Vandal women were led by runner-up finishes from Angie Mathison in the 5,000 meters (17:39.65) and Jill Wimer in the shot put (45-7).

Michelle Edmonds, a North Idaho College freshman from Mead, earned secondteam All-American for a fourth-place finish in the women’s shot put (41-10) at the NJCAA championships in Manhattan, Kan.
