For the Cougar men, Jed Stannard, a senior from Mead, will return to defend his high-jump title. Monyay Green will also be back to defend his triple-jump title.
On the women’s side, Yashiva Edwards will defend her 400 meters title.

Prep football: Ferris should announce its new football coach within a week, according to activities coordinator Ray Hare.
Seven people were interviewed from among 42 applications in the nationwide search. The list list was pared to 15, and nine were invited to interview, although two declined.
“This is a major position to be filled and we wanted to do it right,” Hare said. “It’s been a real enlightening project. It’s a real credit to (retiring coach) Pat Pfeifer and the Ferris program where it’s at (to get this much interest).”
Shadle Park activities coordinator Randy Ryan said more than 40 coaches have expressed an interest to replace Bob Haney as the Highlanders football coach.
The deadline to apply is March 27, with interviews sometime in midApril.
Final rosters for the East-West Summer Classic football game should be finalized by next week.

Shawn Amos has been selected as Kellogg High School’s new football coach.
Amos, who played football at Moscow High and the University of Idaho, was an assistant under previous coach Bill Alf, who resigned after two seasons with a 1-15 record.
Amos will continue as Kellogg’s head wrestling coach.
He just finished his second season in that capacity.
