“She’s just fighting (in) her corner and doing it well, with those tanned, big, muscled arms in sleeveless dresses, the slicked-back hair,” says Jane Proctor, editor of the British magazine Tatler. “She’s saying, ‘I’m a woman in control, I’m Schwarzenegger, I’m a sexual presence.”’
And is it a calculated maneuver at image damage control? “The whole body-language thing is fascinating,” Proctor says. “Everybody thinks she’s as thick as two short planks, but she’s canny, manipulative and knows exactly what she’s doing.”
